Nikola Tsolov won the 2026 British Formula 2 Sprint at Silverstone after defeating Gabriele Mini in a close fight decided by a last-lap overtake.
The Campos Racing driver finished 1.2 seconds ahead of Mini, who races for MP Motorsport. The result carried direct championship significance, with Tsolov drawing level with Mini in the standings and moving ahead on countback through a higher number of victories.
Rafael Villagomez completed the podium for Van Amersfoort Racing. It marked a second consecutive Sprint podium for Villagomez, strengthening his consistency in the shorter race format on the British Grand Prix support bill.

Kush Maini and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak finished fourth and fifth for ART Grand Prix. Dino Beganovic, Roman Bilinski and Joshua Dursken completed the points-paying positions, while Rafael Camara earned the extra point for setting the fastest lap among drivers who finished inside the top 10.
The 21-lap race also featured an incident on Lap 6 when John Bennett stopped on the main straight. That brought out the safety car after an incident involving Bennett, Sebastian Montoya and Colton Herta, with Bennett and Montoya both retiring.
Several penalties also shaped the provisional result. Nicolas Varrone received a five-second penalty for causing a collision, while Martinius Stenshorne was given a 10-second penalty for his battle with Camara.
Tsolov's Silverstone Sprint win had an immediate impact on the 2026 F2 title picture. With Mini now under direct pressure and the standings shifting on countback, attention turns to the main British Grand Prix feature race to see whether Tsolov can carry that momentum forward.
