The WorldSBK weekend in Portugal delivered high drama as Nicolo Bulega put on a masterclass performance to claim a dominant victory in Race 1 at Circuito Estoril. The Italian rider secured his 27th win of the season, equaling the historic record for most victories in a single campaign.
The 21-lap encounter started with intense action when Iker Lecuona snatched the early lead from second on the grid after Bulega ran wide at the first corner. However, Bulega quickly mounted a comeback, slicing past his rivals to reclaim control of the race by the third lap.
Once at the front, Bulega established an unassailable gap, managing his pace expertly to cross the finish line nearly four seconds clear of the chasing pack. Behind the dominant victory, the spotlight shone brightly on Alberto Surra.

The Motocorsa Racing rider delivered a breakthrough performance to secure a career-first WorldSBK podium finish in third place, completing a clean sweep of the podium for Ducati machinery at the Portuguese venue.
Further down the order, fierce battles unfolded throughout the points-paying positions, while wildcard and rookie contenders fought hard to maximize their race setups during a thrilling Saturday afternoon.
