World champion Nicolo Bulega completed a stunning hat trick of WorldSBK victories at Estoril as he claimed a dominant victory in Race 2 during the 2026 season.
Bulega had lost the race lead on the start, but responded later on the first lap to take command of Race 2 and pull away into an eventual victory. Polesitter Bulega got a good initial launch off the line, but Iker Lecuona was the bravest on the brakes as he took the lead of the race at the first corner.
However, the progress at the front of the grid was undone quickly into the second half of the opening lap, as Bulega retook the lead by tucking it up the inside of team-mate Lecuona at Turn 6 to regain control of the race.
Further back, drama unfolded as Alvaro Bautista battled fiercely for podium positions before making a crucial braking error in the closing stages, handing valuable positions away.
Out front, it was yet more total domination by Bulega who took the chequered flag to complete a trio of victories from the Estoril round by a comfortable margin.
