The iconic Mount Panorama circuit ground to a halt following a dramatic melee during the opening lap of the second Touring Car Masters race. Kiwi veteran Angus Fogg was tagged into a spin at The Cutting by Adam Garwood, bringing several trailing machines to an abrupt standstill as he fought to recover his damaged vehicle. The grid-wide bottleneck instantly neutralized the early momentum of the race.

Dave Casey emerged as the first major casualty, coming to a halt during Fogg's spin and failing to restart his car, which forced officials to deploy the safety car. This setback contrasted sharply with Fogg's stellar performance earlier on Saturday morning, where he mastered tricky damp conditions to claim victory in Race 1 after a fierce last-lap showdown against Steven Johnson following a late safety car interruption.

George Miedecke rounded out the podium positions by taking third, holding off Garwood in fourth and Andrew Fisher in fifth after an intense multi-car battle. However, the narrative shifted dramatically in Race 2 as Johnson staged a brilliant recovery to secure victory ahead of a hard-charging Miedecke, capitalizing on the early chaos that befell his primary rivals on the opening lap.

Further down the order, mechanical gremlins plagued the midfield runners as Rob Lewis' Camaro began leaking a massive plume of smoke before grinding to a halt near the top of the mountain. With just two laps remaining, Scott Cameron's remarkable charge from the rear of the grid—prompted by earlier mechanical woes—unraveled at Forrest's Elbow when he spun and was collected by Brayden Phillips.

By banking crucial championship points throughout the weekend meetings, Johnson has inched significantly closer to securing his fifth TCM crown. The unforgiving nature of the famous Australian circuit once again delivered an unforgettable spectacle of high-stakes touring car racing.
