2026 Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup.

A major shockwave has hit the American motorcycle racing scene as Harley-Davidson has officially decided to end its participation in the popular King of the Baggers series. This abrupt departure has directly triggered a strong reaction from championship organizers, given that the class has evolved into a major crowd-puller and a fierce battleground in recent seasons. Instead of continuing its domestic rivalry, the iconic Milwaukee manufacturer has chosen to shift its factory racing focus entirely toward the newly established Bagger World Cup.

As reported by Crash.net, this decision means that Harley-Davidson will scrap both its factory racing program and official team support moving forward. Naturally, this sudden move caught MotoAmerica off guard, prompting the organization to release a formal statement expressing disappointment regarding both the decision and its untimely arrival ahead of upcoming preparations.

The official statement from MotoAmerica read: "MotoAmerica would like to thank the millions of fans across the United States and around the world who support the Mission King of the Baggers series. King Of The Baggers has developed into a true performance competition between two unique American manufacturers. It pushes the boundaries of what these motorcycles can do and showcases a level of performance few could have imagined when the series began. That competition has been a major part of what has made the series so exciting for our fans."

Addressing the departure directly, the statement added: "We share in your disappointment with Harley-Davidson’s decision. Receiving this news at such a late stage presents challenges, but we are actively exploring all available options to continue supporting the class. We appreciate the passion and support of our fans and participants, and we will share additional news as it becomes available."

Since the first full season kicked off in 2021, Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle have shared an intense rivalry, securing three championship titles each. However, the American brand is now channeling its resources into the FIM Bagger World Cup, which exclusively features Harley-Davidson Road Glide machines and acts as a MotoGP support series, where Archie McDonald was crowned the inaugural champion.
