The atmosphere inside the Red Bull Racing garage has shifted dramatically following a major leadership shake-up. Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has openly admitted that he does not miss the internal friction that characterized Christian Horner's tenure at the helm of the Formula 1 powerhouse.
While conflict and paddock arguments often provide gripping storylines for outside observers and documentary series, drivers prioritize a professional environment strictly dedicated to extracting maximum performance on track. Speaking to the Press Association, the Dutch driver emphasized that harmony within the team yields better focus and results.
"To be honest, I like to see that people get on," Max Verstappen said when discussing the previous management dynamics. "It is not nice when you constantly have tension between people." He added that while outsiders might find the political drama entertaining, a friendly internal relationship creates a much healthier workplace.

Currently operating under the leadership of Frenchman Laurent Mekies—who transitioned to the team principal and CEO role after a successful stint at sister squad Racing Bulls—Red Bull Racing has already secured a victory this season. The Milton Keynes outfit feels distinctly more stable, allowing the star driver to enjoy his racing without unnecessary distractions.
"It is not as spicy, but I obviously quite like how things are going at the moment, with everyone's behavior, let's put it like that," Max Verstappen noted. Highlighting the fundamental reasoning behind his preference, he concluded: "It is less stressful. We are all leading a stressful life and, when you can take a bit of stress out of it at times, it is good."
