Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has finally conquered his Marina Bay hoodoo, securing a stellar victory at the Singapore Grand Prix. The masterclass performance from the Red Bull Racing star marks his second consecutive grand prix win of the 2026 Formula 1 season, injecting vital momentum back into the Milton Keynes outfit.
This triumph wraps up a demanding triple-header spanning Baku, Sepang, and Singapore. While Verstappen secured second place in the opening leg, it was Malaysia where he clinched his maiden victory of the year. Following a triumphant performance in the Singapore sprint race, the Dutchman has successfully turned winning into a consistent habit.
Marina Bay had long been a venue of frustration for the championship leader. Having previously finished as runner-up in 2018, 2024, and 2025, the top step of the podium had always eluded him. Crossing this off his active list leaves only one remaining active circuit where he is yet to take a Grand Prix victory.

Reflecting on the milestone achievement after the chequered flag, Max Verstappen admitted the relief within the team. ''Yeah. It's taken a while,'' he stated. ''Pero I think this race was very good. We had pace when we needed to have it on the soft tyre and on the medium, even though I think the medium tire for everyone was a bit more of a struggle, but it worked out, so of course very happy to win here.''
This sudden surge of competitive form has provided the Red Bull Racing squad with a much-needed morale boost following a largely Mercedes-dominated campaign. ''The last few races have been really positive for us and it's just great to see. And we have a lot of motivation in the team to try and deliver even more results,'' he added.
Despite the celebrations, the weekend was not entirely flawless for the constructor. Isack Hadjar suffered a setback after failing to finish the sprint race due to mechanical gremlins, forcing him to start Sunday's grand prix from the pit lane. The team will now look to resolve these issues and extend their winning streak at the upcoming United States Grand Prix in Austin.
