Marc Marquez believes the Misano MotoGP round will be “more complicated” for him than the dominant weekend he enjoyed at Aragon a fortnight ago. Even so, the Spanish rider remains optimistic as the Rimini circuit has always been one of his favourites.
Indeed, given Marc Marquez's record at Aragon, it is easy to see why Misano might feel different. His reputation at MotorLand is undisputed, especially with an unbeaten run there on Ducati machinery. But Misano is no stranger to Marquez either. He has won the San Marino Grand Prix five times, including two victories in the last three editions, in 2024 and 2025.
So, while Marquez feels Misano will be “more complicated” than Aragon, he also considers the track well-suited to his style. “At Aragon we scored maximum points, and that was the goal,” Marquez said ahead of the Misano weekend. “MotorLand is a track that suits my riding style very well. Here at Misano it will be a bit more complicated, but it's still a track where I can try to express myself at my best and push the Desmosedici GP to its full potential. Plus, there will be so many Ducatisti fans, who can definitely give you that extra boost.”
Bagnaia Not Giving Up
If Aragon was perfect for Marquez, it was painfully familiar for Francesco Bagnaia on the other side of the Ducati Lenovo Team garage. Bagnaia crashed out for the second consecutive Grand Prix and the third time in four races. That was especially painful as Misano marks his final home race with Ducati before he switches teams next season.
Despite that, Bagnaia is eager to get “back to work” at a circuit he calls his true home. “At Aragon we struggled, but holding back isn't like me,” Bagnaia said. “So we're getting right back to work with the whole team on a truly special track: my real home track, in front of all the Ducatisti. We're not giving up and we'll keep pushing to be key players once again. I'm sure that the fans' support and passion will give me that little something extra, just as they have in the past.”
With those dynamics in the paddock, the Misano weekend promises an intriguing battle. Marquez arrives full of confidence, while Bagnaia aims to bounce back in front of his own crowd. Will Marquez extend his dominance, or will Bagnaia grab a sweet farewell victory? The answers will come when the lights go out at Misano.
