Following a difficult sprint race on Saturday, Marco Bezzecchi rebounded brilliantly to claim a hard-fought podium finish at Motegi. Starting from fourth on the grid, the Italian star immediately gained position by jumping ahead of Pedro Acosta when the lights went out.

Bezzecchi’s early pace looked strong as he managed to stay within touching distance of Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez. However, a sudden injection of pace on lap four allowed the leading duo to pull clear, although Bezzecchi remained firmly in the mix.

Interestingly, his pace actually improved as the grand prix progressed, with his best lap times coming in the closing stages. A similar trend helped Enea Bastianini launch a late charge that nearly stole the final podium spot away from him.

Speaking after the race, Bezzecchi admitted it was a tough encounter dealing with Bastianini's relentless pressure. Despite securing a crucial morale boost, the Aprilia rider lost further ground in the championship battle to his main title rivals.
