Marc Marquez revealed he experienced an unexpected bout of dizziness following his sensational sprint race victory at the Indonesian Grand Prix, admitting that such a physical toll had never happened to him before in his illustrious career.

The reigning world champion clinched a surprising eighth sprint win of the 2026 campaign at Mandalika on Saturday, benefiting from a late tyre pressure issue that forced Jorge Martin to relinquish the lead before dropping down to fourth place.

Speaking to the media including Crash, the Ducati star described his Saturday afternoon as a complete nightmare due to the intense pace required to maintain 1m29s lap times under extreme physical strain inside his tight leather race suit.

The Spanish rider noted that he had to immediately jump out of a golf cart and seek refuge in his office with cold water to recover his normal physical state, emphasizing that professional athletes must meticulously manage every small detail of their body just like they manage fuel and machine settings.

The unexpected victory propelled him to the top of the championship standings with a four-point advantage over his rival, completely shifting his pre-race expectations as he originally targeted minimizing point losses at what he traditionally considers a bogey track.

The 13-lap sprint also featured high drama right from the start at Turn 1, where four riders went side-by-side, involving an incident between Raul Fernandez and Marco Bezzecchi that drew paddock debate but was ultimately judged by FIM stewards as a racing incident.

Explaining the opening corner chaos, he stated that everyone was trying to brake as late as possible while running in parallel lines, which ultimately forced multiple riders wide and allowed Martin to capitalize on the scramble from fifth to first.
