Marc Marquez has become the most successful MotoGP Sprint winner of all time after claiming victory in the 2026 German Grand Prix Sprint at the Sachsenring.
The result marked Marquez’s 19th Sprint victory and moved him clear of Jorge Martin, who remains on 18 wins. The pair had shared the lead since Marquez’s previous Saturday success at Balaton Park.
Marquez now leads Martin by one victory and holds a five-win advantage over Francesco Bagnaia. Bagnaia sits third with 14 Sprint wins after most recently winning at Brno during the 2026 season.

The trio has dominated the format since Sprint races were introduced at the beginning of 2023. Marquez, Martin and Bagnaia have combined for 51 victories, while only eight other riders have won a MotoGP Sprint.
Alex Marquez ranks fourth with six victories, followed by Marco Bezzecchi on four. Brad Binder, Maverick Vinales, Aleix Espargaro, Enea Bastianini and Raul Fernandez have each claimed two wins.
Pedro Acosta became the latest rider to join the winners’ list when he secured his maiden Sprint victory at Buriram in 2026. Fernandez also added to his total this season with victories at Mugello and Assen.
Although Sprint results do not count as official Grand Prix victories, they remain significant to the championship because the winner receives 12 points. Marquez’s Sachsenring result strengthens his status as the most successful rider in the format’s short history.
