MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Ahead of the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP on October 3–5 at Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, MotoGP riders and crews are arriving in Lombok via three chartered flights. NTB Provincial Government and stakeholders held coordination meetings to ensure top readiness, emphasizing tourism sector uplift for the weekend event.
Riders and Teams Land in Lombok
Stars like Marc Marquez of Ducati Corse and Valentino Rossi, owner of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, touched down in Lombok. The special flights facilitate adaptation for teams including Ducati and Yamaha. Riders such as Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team joined, buzzing Lombok International Airport.
Intensive NTB Government Coordination
NTB authorities, partnering with Minister Erick Thohir, conducted multi-stakeholder meetings on transport, security, and visitor facilities for up to 100,000 attendees. "We're ensuring maximum readiness for this global event," stated an NTB official. This aligns with sport tourism goals, projecting Mandalika to drive regional income via hotels, dining, and Lombok cultural tours.
Tourism Sector Surge
The 2025 Mandalika MotoGP is set to hit 90% hotel occupancy in Lombok, with integrated packages like Sasak tours and beaches. Stakeholders prepared airport-to-circuit shuttles and fan zones for rider interactions. Sportrik analysis views this prep as key to Mandalika's potential as a permanent MotoGP stop, echoing Alex Marquez's call for more Indonesian rounds.
Schedule and Race Anticipation
Events kick off Friday (3/10/2025) with free practice, Saturday (4/10/2025) qualifying and sprint, Sunday (5/10/2025) main race. With Marquez as champion and Rossi's Red-White livery launch, expect national fervor. Sportrik predicts success beyond sport, fueling economy and local talents like Mario Suryo Aji.
