Marco Bezzecchi has insisted that the chaotic first-corner crash during the MotoGP Mandalika sprint race was strictly a racing incident and that there is no valid reason for any lingering frustration. The factory Aprilia Racing rider saw his race end prematurely after a chain reaction at the opening bend took out multiple front-running contenders.
The incident dealt a heavy blow to Raul Fernandez, who had secured pole position and looked poised to fight for victory before being collected by Bezzecchi's sliding machine. Given the high stakes and their strong grid positions, emotions ran extremely hot, with Fernandez showing sarcastic applause in the gravel trap before launching a scathing media attack on his fellow competitor.
Addressing the angry reactions, Bezzecchi remained remarkably relaxed during his media debriefs. The Italian explained that he was merely trying to manage his braking zone while keeping an eye on the aggressive entry of Marc Marquez from the inside, deliberately choosing caution over a reckless first-corner maneuver.

Bezzecchi further pointed out that contact occurred because Fernandez was positioned directly on his outside flank. Arguing that neither rider could simply vanish from the track, the Aprilia representative maintained that the situation was a textbook racing incident that warranted no major complaints.
Although the retirement severely damages an already uphill championship campaign, Bezzecchi quickly shifted his attention toward Sunday's grand prix. With strong pace demonstrated throughout the Indonesian weekend, the Rimini native is eager to bounce back and secure a strong result.
