The Formula 1 qualifying drama at the Sepang International Circuit took a thrilling turn for the red squad. Lewis Hamilton secured a front-row start for the Bahrain Grand Prix after a last-minute set-up tweak completely transformed his car's behavior in Q3.
The seven-time world champion had struggled to extract single-lap pace throughout the practice sessions. However, crucial adjustments ahead of qualifying allowed the SF-26 to hook up, putting him right behind Max Verstappen who clinched the pole position.
"We made one last change going into qualifying, and I think we hit the sweet spot," Hamilton shared in parc ferme, reflecting on the punishing track temperatures that pushed tyres and machinery to their absolute limits.

This performance marks his strongest qualifying result since his memorable victory in Barcelona back in June. The hard work of the garage crew paid off as they managed to conquer severe tyre overheating and sliding issues under intense heat.
While losing ground on the straights to rival teams, Ferrari showed stellar cornering pace, setting up an intriguing battle for the upcoming race.
