Lewis Hamilton is considering skipping the miniature LEGO car drivers’ parade ahead of the 2026 British Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver has not confirmed whether he will participate in the special event following its popular debut with Formula 1 fans.
The LEGO Formula 1 car concept was first used for the drivers’ parade at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix. Each team had one vehicle before the drivers turned the parade into an unofficial race featuring several collisions.
For the event at Silverstone Circuit, LEGO has expanded the project by producing an individual car for every driver. A total of 22 miniature vehicles, limited to approximately 25kph, are expected to complete a lap before the grand prix.

“I mean, it’s the most dangerous part of the weekend,” Hamilton joked.
Hamilton did not drive the LEGO car himself at last year’s Miami event after allowing team-mate Charles Leclerc to take control. He said he enjoyed watching the disorder as the drivers repeatedly made contact with each other.
“I let Charles drive last time and it was just hilarious watching everyone crashing into each other. So I don’t know whether or not I’ll be in the LEGO car this year,” he said.
The seven-time world champion did not explain the precise reason for his uncertainty. When asked whether his concerns involved the possibility of injury, Hamilton said the subject needed to be discussed separately and offered no further detail.
The parade is intended as entertainment during the Formula 1 weekend rather than an official competition. The vehicles are also speed-limited, although the Miami event demonstrated that the drivers were still prepared to race and make contact.
There has been no confirmation that Hamilton will definitely miss the event or allow another driver to take the wheel. His final decision will determine whether one of the home crowd’s most prominent drivers participates in the special parade before the 2026 British Grand Prix.
