
Lando Norris has openly conceded that he let down the team after colliding with McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri during the sprint race at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix. The clash occurred on the final lap of the 20-lap contest around the demanding street circuit.
The papaya-liveried machines tangled at Turn 5 as the British driver dived down the inside of his teammate. Contact was made with the sister car's right-rear tyre, sending both drivers into a costly spin that ruined a potential strong points finish for the Woking-based outfit.
Team principal Andrea Stella did not hold back his frustration, branding the intra-team collision as simply not acceptable and confirming that internal talks were immediately scheduled to prevent any future repetitions.

Bouncing back from his Saturday setback, the reigning world champion delivered a resilient recovery drive to finish fourth in Sunday's main grand prix. Although a podium remained just out of reach, he managed to salvage crucial points despite intense late-race battles.
According to Motorsport.com, the 26-year-old admitted he owes everyone at the factory an apology, emphasizing that he must prioritize the collective interests of the team over individual ambitions moving forward.
