The motorsport community is in mourning following the tragic death of Klaus Rader, a well-known entrepreneur and experienced racing driver who lost his life in a severe rally accident. The incident occurred while he was competing in the 550 Challenge Mallorca, a rally event held on the Mediterranean island, when his Porsche GT3 RS vehicle veered off the road.

The fatal crash took place on a challenging mountain road situated between Pollenca and Lluc. The 63-year-old driver lost control of the car, causing it to leave the asphalt and plunge into a deep ravine. The steep and rugged terrain located within the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range presented immense difficulties for emergency services attempting to reach the wreckage.

Firefighters and rescue teams had to descend into the hard-to-access area to recover the crashed competitors. Tragically, all help came too late for Rader, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, his Austrian co-pilot, Christina Ettel, sustained severe spinal injuries and required urgent medical intervention in the challenging mountain environment.

An official statement released by L'Osteria reflected the deep sorrow felt by everyone connected to the restaurant chain. "The sudden accidental death of Klaus Rader deeply shocks us and leaves us speechless. We are infinitely sad and our thoughts are with his entire family," the company stated, emphasizing his exceptional personality and the lasting legacy he leaves behind both inside and outside the business.

Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Rader was a dedicated motorsport enthusiast who frequently tested his skills on the track. In recent years, he regularly competed behind the wheel of Porsche race cars fielded by Huber Motorsport, taking on the legendary challenges of the Nurburgring-Nordschleife and the grueling 24H Series.
