Kimi Antonelli extended his lead in the 2026 F1 drivers' standings to 43 points after winning the British Grand Prix Sprint at Silverstone.
The Mercedes driver now has 179 points after overtaking Lewis Hamilton during the middle phase of the Sprint. The victory gave Antonelli the maximum eight points and strengthened his position as championship leader before the main race this weekend.
George Russell remains second in the standings on 136 points. However, the Sprint result allowed Antonelli to stretch his advantage further, while also maintaining Mercedes' internal pressure at the top of the championship.

Hamilton remains third in the standings after finishing second in the Sprint. The Ferrari driver now has 132 points, just four behind Russell, keeping the battle for second place open ahead of the main Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Behind the top three, Lando Norris holds fourth with 85 points, followed by Charles Leclerc on 83 and Oscar Piastri on 82. Max Verstappen sits seventh on 76 points, underlining the growing gap to the front of the championship after the British Sprint.
In the constructors' standings, Mercedes again extended its advantage over Ferrari, although the gap increased by only two points after the Sprint. That position shows Mercedes remains in control, but Ferrari is still close enough to maintain pressure into the next phase.
The Sprint result gives the main 2026 British Grand Prix greater championship significance. Antonelli carries strong momentum, while Russell, Hamilton, Ferrari and the other leading rivals must target maximum points to prevent the gap at the top from growing further.
