The off-road racing landscape shifts significantly as Justin Barcia secures his racing future by making the switch to Suzuki. This career move comes in the wake of last week's announcement from the Troy Lee Ducati factory team confirming that the 34-year-old rider's contract would not be renewed for the upcoming campaign.

In this fresh chapter of his career, the seasoned American competitor will pilot the proven Suzuki RM-Z450 machine. The initial agreement spans a one-year term and features a mutual extension option running through the conclusion of the 2028 competitive calendar.

The major talking point surrounding this transfer is whether Ken Roczen will choose to extend his career or hang up his helmet. Should the German rider commit to another season, the garage will house two elite competitors who have pushed each other to the absolute limit on track for years.

Stepping into the Pipes Motorsports Group setup offers a renewed sense of purpose for Justin Barcia, particularly as the Dustin Pipes-led squad enters the next championship chase riding the momentum of their 2026 Supercross title triumph.

«I am very excited to compete for a championship-winning team like Pipes Motorsports Group aboard a proven motorcycle like the Suzuki RM-Z450,» stated Barcia. «This is a fresh start for me. Dustin, the team, and everyone involved have built a top-tier program. I am ready to work hard in pre-season preparations, give it everything, and deliver results.»

Team manager Dustin Pipes expressed complete confidence in securing the services of the veteran racer, highlighting his fighting spirit as a key asset for the upcoming championship battle.

«I have always been a fan of his,» explained Dustin Pipes. «He will fit into the team well, and I am looking forward to our collaboration.»
