Max Verstappen will extend his stay with Red Bull until at least the end of the 2030 season after signing a new contract. However, behind the official announcement, his father, Jos Verstappen, has revealed that several "agreements" are included in the new deal, sparking speculation about performance guarantees and the team's future direction.

The new contract puts an end to rumors of Verstappen's potential exit to a rival team, which had been fueled by a performance-related clause. With this long-term commitment, Red Bull shows confidence in their ability to return to the front of the grid. Yet, Jos made it clear that the details of these agreements will not be made public.

"Yes, there is confidence that we will get a winning car again at Red Bull," Jos told Formule1. "But to what extent they will actually manage that remains to be seen, of course; you never know. That is something the team will have to take care of. Naturally, agreements have been made regarding this in the contract. We know what those agreements are, and Red Bull knows, and we are not going to broadcast them."

Jos's statement suggests that Red Bull has provided certain assurances to Verstappen, possibly related to car development or technical commitment. This is crucial as Red Bull aims to bounce back after a challenging season. With competitors like Lewis Hamilton and others, the battle at the top is intensifying.

Jos also emphasized the importance of stability for team harmony. "Max wants a car with which he can win," he added. "That confidence is there. The most important thing at this moment is that calm returns on this front. I must say, Raymond [Vermeulen, Verstappen's manager] has done a good job, together with Oliver Mintzlaff from Red Bull. The most important argument is that there is mutual trust. Otherwise, of course, we wouldn't have signed the contract."

This new contract sends a strong signal that Verstappen has full faith in Red Bull's project, especially with the upcoming technical regulations. The decision also impacts the driver market, as seats at top teams are becoming increasingly limited. With a long-term commitment, Verstappen reaffirms his ambition to continue winning titles with the team that has elevated his career.
