Unwavering resilience and competitive grit defined Javi Vega's stellar performance at the 2026 Rally of Morocco. The seasoned Spanish rider clinched a hard-fought victory in the grueling Malle Moto category, marking the debut of this demanding class in the Moroccan event. Operating completely without mechanical assistance, he pushed both himself and the KOVE 450 Rally to the absolute limit as part of his meticulous preparations for future endurance challenges.
As reported by Motosan.es, the grueling rally route stretched over 2,400 kilometers, with nearly 1,500 kilometers against the clock. Competitors faced a relentless barrage of towering dunes, fast tracks, treacherous rocky sections, and complex navigation that severely tested both man and machine across every single stage of the demanding African terrain.
Right from the opening stages, Javi Vega stamped his authority on the Malle Moto category, establishing an early lead and holding onto it with remarkable consistency. Across five intense days of competition, he swept every stage, demonstrating exceptional pacing where terrain variation and punishing distances demanded absolute focus from the rider.

The technical prowess of the machine proved vital to the triumph. Powered by a 449 cc single-cylinder engine and tipping the scales at just 155 kg in running order, the rally bike showcased its inherent off-road agility and lightweight handling. This balanced package allowed the Spanish rider to tackle unpredictable surfaces confidently while maintaining a relentless, competitive tempo.
Drawing from his extensive background in Dakar's Original by Motul class—where he secured a notable second-place finish in 2023 and fifth in 2026—Vega utilized his vast self-support experience. The combination of his deep mechanical resourcefulness and the motorcycle's proven reliability ensured a historic class victory in one of rally raid's toughest environments.
