A new chapter in Jack Miller's MotoGP career is coming to a close. Yamaha has officially announced that they will not extend the Australian rider's contract for 2027, ending a partnership that began in 2025 with Prima Pramac Yamaha.
This decision may not come as a huge surprise to paddock insiders. Since mid-2026, Miller's future has been one of the hottest topics in the paddock. He himself admitted on several occasions that he didn't know where he would be next season, and his chances of staying in the premier class were even questioned.
Miller is no stranger to Pramac. Before returning in 2025, he raced for the Italian team from 2018 to 2020, before moving up to the Ducati factory team. This is where Miller's role is considered crucial. His experience in motorcycle racing is highly relied upon to speed up the team's adaptation process.

Although the results on track have not been maximal, Miller's value in terms of technical feedback is considered very valuable to Yamaha's engineers.
Now, with the remaining races of the season, Miller faces a final mission: closing his Yamaha adventure in a sweet way. Although his future in MotoGP is still unclear, he still has the chance to show his class in the final rounds. One thing is for sure, this parting adds to the long list of major changes on the grid ahead of the uncertain 2027 season.
