The final co-driver practice session at Mount Panorama for the Repco Bathurst 1000 delivered high drama as Jarrod Hughes brilliantly clinched the fastest lap time in the dying moments. Driving the number nine Erebus Motorsport Chev Camaro ZL1, Hughes successfully recorded a sensational lap time of 2 minutes 05.5864 seconds on his 22nd and final lap during the intense 60-minute session.
Early dominance in the session was initially held by Richie Stanaway, partnering James Golding. Stanaway comfortably sat at the top of the timing sheets before Hughes' incredible late charge pushed him down to third place in the final standings of practice five.
A drastic positional shift also occurred within the Blanchard Racing Team as Zak Best, sharing duties with Aaron Cameron, improved his lap time late in the session. Best surged into second place, forcing his stablemate Stanaway down to third, while fourth and fifth positions were secured by Tim Slade of Grove Racing and David Russell representing PremiAir Racing respectively.

The paddock atmosphere was filled with relief following the heavy accident suffered by Ryan Wood in the third practice session. Co-driver Jaxon Evans immediately took to the track in the opening minutes of practice five to test the car's integrity without encountering any major complaints, eventually wrapping up the session in 10th position.
"I'm all good. Obviously yesterday was one of those days, more mental than anything that you need to recover from," Wood expressed. He added praise for his squad, "Just a massive credit to our team. Jaxon has rolled out there and has no complaints. Really proud of our group. We'll just bounce back from what happened yesterday hopefully on Sunday."
