Isack Hadjar has admitted that his promotion to the main Red Bull team this season initially felt like a 'culture shock'. That feeling emerged after spending his debut season with sister squad VCARB, which had a more familiar atmosphere.
The Frenchman impressed throughout 2025, culminating in a third-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix. That consistent form, combined with struggles for Yuki Tsunoda, convinced Red Bull to promote him to partner Max Verstappen.
However, Hadjar admitted there was a big adjustment moving from a family-like environment to a top team that operates at a faster, more professional pace. "It was definitely a culture shock," he said on the Talking Bulls podcast. "You go from more of a family team, Italian team, to a British one. It's definitely different."
Still, Hadjar did not forget VCARB's role in his development. "VCARB helped me massively in my first year. They're used to having young drivers to prepare for the main seat," he added.
The transition also felt smoother because Hadjar had been part of the Red Bull junior programme for years. "I've been in the junior team since 2021. I've had FP1 tests, junior testing. I'm working with Woody this year, but I had my first FP1 outing with him three years ago. So for me, it's kind of natural to be there," he explained.
