TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Louise Goodman is calling time on a 30-year career with ITV

The worlds of Formula 1 and British motorsport are bidding farewell to a true broadcasting trailblazer as Louise Goodman officially steps down from her long-standing role with ITV. This monumental decision marks the conclusion of an extraordinary media career spanning three remarkable decades covering top-tier motorsport.

As one of the pioneering female broadcasters to break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated pit lane, she joined ITV’s crew when the network secured UK television rights in 1997. Before quickly establishing herself as a beloved household name, her breakthrough into television followed crucial experience working in communications with Leyton House Racing and Jordan Grand Prix.

For over ten years, she reported from the heart of the Grand Prix paddock alongside broadcasting royalty including Murray Walker, Martin Brundle, Jim Rosenthal, James Allen, Ted Kravitz, and Steve Rider. When ITV eventually lost its premier championship broadcasting rights to the BBC, she remained loyal to the network and successfully transitioned into the British Touring Car Championship.

Now at 63 years of age, the British journalist has decided to call time on her storied career with the broadcaster after defining their touring car coverage for the past two decades. "I've decided to step down from ITV Sport's team covering the British Touring Car Championship," Goodman stated, reflecting on the moment the network took a punt on a complete novice to join their brand new F1 broadcasting team.

"Since 2007, I have found a very happy, welcoming home in the BTCC paddock and I am going to deeply miss my brilliant, tight-knit immediate team, the wider ITV family, and the countless wonderful people who make up the BTCC," she concluded, leaving behind an unmatched legacy in motorsport journalism.
