After six years away from Australia's most prestigious race, Garry Rogers Motorsport (GRM) has finally confirmed their return to the Bathurst 1000. The team, synonymous with the Holden glory days, will field a special Chevrolet Camaro ex-Triple Eight, driven by two Trans Am stars, Nathan Herne and James Moffat.

GRM's presence on the Bathurst grid this year is more than just participation; it's a tribute to history. Their livery is designed to honor the legendary victory in 2000, when Garth Tander and Jason Bargwanna took a Holden Commodore VT to the top step. The retro feel is immediate with the return of the era's major sponsors, Valvoline and Repco, now backing the entry.

Additional support comes from GT Radial, TFH Hire, and Schaeffler, plus Herne and Moffat's personal backers, BlueGold Industries and Advanced Aquarium Technologies. HCC Distribution, the category owner, is also on board. All these elements make GRM's livery feel deeply personal and meaningful, as if carrying the spirit of the past into the modern era.

For fans, GRM is also preparing retro-inspired merchandise that can be pre-ordered soon. The team is currently preparing their Camaro with a test at Winton next month, before the race on October 8-11.

GRM's return to Bathurst is certainly one of the interesting stories this season. With Moffat's experience and Herne's pace, plus a proven car package, they could be a dark horse to watch. After all, the mountain always has its own way of surprising everyone.
