George Russell admitted he is beyond disappointed after another wave of rotten luck severely damaged his Formula 1 world championship ambitions in Sepang.
A guaranteed podium finish slipped through his fingers when his Mercedes W17 ground to a halt during a late Safety Car period due to a suspected power unit failure.
The costly retirement handed a massive championship swing to teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who has now extended his commanding lead at the top of the Drivers' standings to 84 points.

With reliability issues repeatedly hindering his campaign throughout the year, Russell faces an uphill battle with only seven races remaining on the calendar.
