Lewis Hamilton will start the 2026 British Grand Prix Sprint from pole position after producing the fastest lap in Sprint Qualifying at Silverstone Circuit. The Ferrari driver defeated Kimi Antonelli by just 0.011 seconds to secure the front spot on the Sprint grid.
The result gives Hamilton his third career Sprint pole and places Ferrari in a strong strategic position for Saturday’s shorter race. Antonelli will start second for Mercedes, while Max Verstappen lines up third for Red Bull.
Charles Leclerc completes the second row in fourth, ahead of George Russell and Lando Norris. The front section of the grid sets up a competitive opening phase, with Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull and McLaren all represented inside the top six.
Oscar Piastri will start seventh, followed by Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, who complete the top 10. Pierre Gasly begins just outside that group, while Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg place Audi 12th and 13th.
Further back, Haas, Cadillac and Aston Martin face a more difficult Sprint. Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon line up 17th and 18th, while Sergio Perez, Valtteri Bottas, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll occupy the final four grid positions.
The Sprint grid remains provisional until officially confirmed by the FIA. Hamilton’s pole gives Ferrari the early advantage, but Antonelli and Verstappen are positioned closely enough to apply immediate pressure when the race begins at Silverstone.
