The 2027 Formula 1 season is still two years away, but silly season is already in full swing. Ten drivers have officially secured their seats, and the paddock is starting to speculate on who will fill the remaining 12 vacancies.
At the front of the grid, McLaren and Ferrari have opted to keep their line-ups intact. Max Verstappen has finally put an end to months of speculation by signing a new contract with Red Bull until the end of 2030.
Verstappen's certainty is a major blow to other teams that had hoped to lure him away. Mercedes, for instance, has yet to announce its 2027 line-up, though Kimi Antonelli and George Russell are widely expected to stay.

Williams has been the quickest to move outside the top two contenders. Alex Albon received a one-year extension, followed by Carlos Sainz signing a new multi-year deal. This means the Albon-Sainz duo will remain intact for 2027.
Pierre Gasly is confirmed to stay at Alpine until 2028, while Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas have officially joined Cadillac for the American team's second season in F1. However, many seats remain up for grabs, including at Racing Bulls, Aston Martin, Haas, and Audi.
The next decisions will be crucial in shaping the balance of power. Will there be a major surprise, like a young talented driver moving to a top team? Or a return of familiar names looking to prove themselves?
