Formula 1, Sportrik Media - The second day of Formula 1’s 2026 pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya unfolded under heavily restricted conditions, with only Red Bull Racing and Ferrari running their cars throughout Tuesday.

Following an intensive opening day, running on day two was significantly disrupted by weather. Only the opening hours of the session were completed on a dry track before rain arrived mid-morning and persisted for the remainder of the day. Within that brief dry window, Max Verstappen set the fastest lap of the day, a 1:19.580, which ultimately stood as the quickest time overall.

Ferrari began its day-two programme with Charles Leclerc in the morning session. The Monegasque completed the highest lap count of the four drivers involved, logging 64 laps before handing the SF-26 over to Lewis Hamilton in the afternoon, as Ferrari continued its early evaluation of the new aerodynamic package and power unit systems.

At Red Bull, afternoon running was assigned to Isack Hadjar. However, Hadjar’s final session of the Barcelona test came to an abrupt end after a heavy crash at the final corner, which caused significant rear-end damage to the RB22 and forced the team to terminate its running for the day.

Despite the rain limiting opportunities for representative performance running, day two still provided valuable data for both Red Bull and Ferrari. The focus shifted toward understanding baseline car behaviour in wet conditions, system robustness, and early correlation between simulation tools and real-world track feedback under the 2026 regulations.
