The race weekend at Motegi Circuit, Japan, left a heavy toll on Fabio Di Giannantonio. The Italian rider had to endure a grueling Sunday race due to physical consequences suffered from a multi-rider crash during the previous Sprint event.
Hampered by a body far from optimal condition, the Roman rider quickly faded from the radar during the main race. He steadily lost position after position and crossed the finish line in eighteenth place, with only Jack Miller behind him, finishing a staggering 50 seconds adrift of race winner Marc Marquez.
As reported by FormulaPassion, speaking after the grueling Grand Prix, Fabio Di Giannantonio explained the physical ordeal he had to fight through throughout the entire race distance.

"Non sono sicuramente in ottime condizioni. Mi aspettavo di stare molto meglio trascorsa la notte e invece gia dal mattino faticavo a sentirmi libero nei movimenti in sella. Soprattutto sul lato destro, dove ho preso la botta," said Fabio Di Giannantonio regarding his restricted movement on the bike.
The VR46 rider further detailed the excruciating pain affecting his riding posture and natural body movement during high-speed cornering at the Japanese venue.
"L’anca non mi permette di avere una posizione naturale e poi ci sono le costole. Quando prendi un colpo li, e come se avessi un coltello puntato per tutta la giornata. Quindi e stata una giornata complicata," he added, describing the stabbing sensation from his injured hip and ribs.
With very little time to recover before the upcoming round in Indonesia at Mandalika, the Italian rider remains focused on maximizing his physical recovery to be as ready as possible for the next challenge.
