Danilo Petrucci is facing a crucial decision regarding his racing future as the Italian rider evaluates his next career move following a challenging campaign in the FIM Superbike World Championship with the factory BMW squad.
The former MotoGP rider's transition to the BMW M 1000 RR has not panned out as hoped, hampered by rain-affected test days and physical setbacks that prevented him from building the necessary confidence on his machine.

With only the rounds at Estoril and the season finale at Jerez remaining, Petrucci's immediate focus is on finishing the year on a high note while acknowledging these could be his final appearances in the WorldSBK paddock.

"These could be my last two race weekends in WorldSBK. I mostly want to have fun and see how it goes. I feel no pressure and have no special expectations," Petrucci stated. "It is hard to accept that good results are not coming, but the team and I are working hard and we will try to be as fast as possible."

Looking ahead to next year, Petrucci is weighing two distinct pathways. The first involves a return to the United States to compete in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship with OrangeCat BMW, a championship he previously contested in 2022. The second option keeps him in the world championship paddock via interest from Ducati independent outfit Team Go Eleven, which is considering expanding to a two-bike lineup.
"I am waiting for BMW, because I have been to the United States to check out the situation. There are also talks to stay in the world championship with another team, but for now they are just talks," Petrucci added.
