Christian Horner has reignited his famous Formula 1 feud by claiming that Toto Wolff and Mercedes currently have things quite easy in the sport. Throughout his illustrious years in the pinnacle of motorsport, Horner established numerous fierce rivalries, but none will live in memory quite as long as his intense disputes with the Austrian boss.

During the latter years of Horner’s leadership, his squad consistently went toe-to-toe with Wolff and the Silver Arrows in high-stakes championship battles. Red Bull famously broke Mercedes' unprecedented dominance when they secured the 2021 drivers' crown with Max Verstappen in a thrilling season finale.

However, the former team principal now believes that his old rivals are cruising through a comfortable phase as they look set to claim their first major titles in years. Horner pointed out how political dynamics and power unit supplies within the current paddock have neutralized potential threats from rival teams.

Speaking in an interview with the Guardian, Horner stated that Toto currently has an easy path, noting that Zak Brown is compromised by using customer engines and therefore cannot ruffle any feathers. He emphasized that every sport genuinely thrives on fierce rivalries, comparing them to iconic managerial battles in football.

Reflecting on his remarkable legacy of 124 wins and 14 championships, Horner admitted feeling a sense of heartbreak over not being around to witness the newly developed Red Bull Powertrains engine take its maiden victory firsthand under his direct watch.

Despite stepping away, Horner watched with immense pride as Verstappen drove the new power unit to a landmark victory in Sepang. He revealed that he exchanged messages with the Dutch driver after the race, praising the milestone as absolute proof that the right culture and people can achieve the impossible.

Red Bull has always operated as the maverick disruptor of the grid, famously daring to build an in-house power unit as a subsidiary of a beverage company. While the corporate landscape may have shifted slightly since then, that rebellious philosophy remains deeply embedded in the team's historical foundations.
