Christian Horner has offered his congratulations to former employer Red Bull following their milestone victory in a dramatic Formula 1 Grand Prix. This achievement was secured after a demanding race weekend that tested the mental and physical resilience of the entire Milton Keynes-based squad amidst challenging circuit conditions.
The team successfully secured their first victory of the current championship season. Max Verstappen delivered a dominant performance on the track, pulling away from his rivals to claim the top step of the podium after the race experienced a total one hour and forty-minute delay to proceedings due to various technical hurdles.
Red Bull’s brilliant success carried an additional and much deeper layer of meaning. It marked the very first-ever victory for the team as a standalone manufacturer, a massive strategic gamble that ultimately paid off in front of a global audience.
The 2026 season marks the first year of their Powertrains division powering the RB22 car, the result of a massive technical collaboration with American automotive giant Ford. This win also ended a victory drought for Ford stretching back to Giancarlo Fisichella's triumph for Jordan at the 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix.
Taking to his personal social media account, Christian Horner, the figure instrumental in the strategic decision to build an independent engine division, wrote down his deep appreciation. From a hole in the ground to a race winner in five years, he offered huge congratulations to Red Bull Ford Powertrains, Max Verstappen, and the whole team for an incredible achievement.
