Chery Europe Expansion 2026-2027: Targeting 27 Countries and 1,143 Retail Outlets

Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery has officially outlined its strategic development plan for the European Union market during the Paris Motor Show 2026. The company has set an ambitious target to reach 20 countries alongside 687 sales and service outlets by the end of 2026, before expanding further to encompass 27 countries and 1,143 points of sale by 2027.

This major strategic rollout is designed to capture a substantial demographic, with initial projections anticipating an audience of approximately 100.000 families, scaling up to around 300.000 families by 2027. Having entered the European market in 2025, the brand has already established a presence in several key nations including Greece, Romania, Hungary, and Poland. The strategy presented in Paris also highlights the reinforcement of local research and development operations alongside the production and service network.

To cater to diverse consumer demands, the upcoming vehicle lineup will rely on three distinct propulsion technologies: plug-in hybrid, full hybrid, and pure electric. Centered around the For Family concept—built upon three core pillars of space, safety, and technology—the brand demonstrated this approach at the exhibition through real-world experiences shared by European consumer families utilizing the vehicles for everything from long-distance road trips to daily commuting needs.

A major focal point at the exhibition was the Chery Q, representing the brand's maiden 100% electric model. This compact SUV is targeted at young drivers seeking their first vehicle as well as families requiring a secondary car for daily urban mobility. Following its national preview at the Salone Auto Torino, the model is slated to arrive in the Italian market over the course of 2027.

The exhibition showcase is further complemented by the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid and Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid models. Both plug-in hybrid SUVs have their official dealership debut in Italy scheduled for November of this year, strengthening the brand's footprint in the electrified vehicle segment.
