The championship finale of the 2026 WorldSBK season at Circuito de Jerez kicked off under glorious sunshine and pristine track conditions. With ambient temperatures hovering at a pleasant 25 degrees Celsius and a virtually cloudless sky, riders wasted no time heading out of the pit lane as the green light signaled the start of the crucial 15-minute Superpole session.
Nicolo Bulega immediately stamped his authority on the factory machine, extracting maximum performance from Pirelli's extra-sticky SCQ rear tire compound. The newly crowned champion laid down a blistering lap time of 1:36,643 minutes during the final time attack, leaving his rivals trailing behind as he mastered the Spanish circuit's technical layout.
Ducati's sheer dominance was unmistakably reflected across the front rows of the grid. Sam Lowes delivered a stellar performance to secure second place with a lap under the 1:37 mark, while Iker Lecuona rounded out the front row. The Italian manufacturer's party extended deep into the starting grid, showcasing an overwhelming technical advantage on race weekend.

Resistance from rival factories came primarily from Alex Lowes, who carved his Bimota KB998 into a strong fifth position to break up the red sea at the front. Further down the order, Yamaha rider Xavi Vierge fought through traffic to secure eleventh place on the starting grid for the upcoming races.
A late crash by Twan Smits in turn ten brought out yellow flags in the final sector, neutralizing any late improvements as the clock ran down. This incident cemented Bulega's eleventh pole position of the season, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown.
