Bastian Buus has pulled off a major surprise by securing pole position for the final DTM race at the Hockenheimring. The Danish driver, who was crowned GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup champion just a week prior, delivered a stunning performance on track.
Driving the Land-Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R, he mastered the circuit with a blistering lap time of 1:36.923 minutes. This pace highlights the rookie's exceptional adaptation to Germany's premier touring car championship.
The battle at the front was fiercely contested and underlined the Stuttgart manufacturer's sheer pace. Ricardo Feller aboard the Manthey Porsche had to settle for second place on the grid after a razor-thin margin.

Only 0,006 seconds separated the top two Porsches in an incredibly tight qualifying session. This intense battle sets the stage for high drama heading into the opening corners of the season finale.
Meanwhile, the championship battle reached a boiling point as the grid shaped up for the title decider. Maro Engel will start the race from third place as the best-positioned championship contender.
Engel currently faces a 21-point deficit to the championship leader. This scenario forces the front-runner to mount a strong recovery drive as he is forced to start down in seventh position.
