The racing weekend for Bastian Buus at the 2026 DTM round at Hockenheimring took a bitter turn following a strict penalty from the race stewards. The star driver representing the Land-Motorsport squad was officially stripped of his race result after his Porsche 911 GT3 R breached strict technical regulations.
According to the official report issued by the stewards, the Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by the Danish talent failed to meet the mandatory post-race fuel sample requirement. The DTM technical regulations explicitly mandate that all competing cars must retain a minimum of 700 grams of fuel in the tank for mandatory post-session scrutineering checks.
However, during the rigorous technical inspection conducted by officials, the fuel tank of the Land-Motorsport machine contained a mere 49 grams of fuel. This massive discrepancy immediately triggered a severe penalty from the race stewards, resulting in an outright disqualification from the opening race.

This disappointing outcome further compounds a deeply challenging 2026 DTM campaign for Bastian Buus. The rapid competitor has faced recurring setbacks within the Land-Motorsport operation, having previously suffered a similar disqualification due to an underweight car infraction during the race weekend at Zandvoort.
With his hard-fought 11th-place finish completely erased from the classification, the team now faces mounting pressure to resolve their operational shortcomings. Technical consistency will be paramount as they aim to bounce back strongly during the remaining sessions of the championship weekend.
