Martin began the weekend with pole position, won the sprint despite dropping to eighth, and secured a podium in the grand prix. This consistency extended his championship lead and silenced talk of arm pump surgery. At a track that clearly suits him, he was the clear leader in the Aprilia camp.
Johann Zarco also impressed. Starting 10th, he finished seventh in the sprint, just 5.9 seconds behind the winner, and his underlying speed allowed him to recover from 17th on the opening lap of the grand prix. This performance confirms Zarco remains a force despite his absence.
