After a nightmare run of incidents, penalties, and injuries before the summer break, Marco Bezzecchi finally returned to form with a double podium at Silverstone. The former MotoGP title leader now sits second in the standings, just 31 points behind teammate Jorge Martin.

Aprilia team manager Paolo Bonora revealed that the summer break was used to analyze the issues Bezzecchi faced. "There was no holiday for us. We analyzed from a distance what happened in the first part of the season," Bonora told MotoGP pit lane reporter.

The analysis showed that the Aprilia bike was competitive at every circuit. The problem lay with Bezzecchi, who failed to score points in six of eight races. "Only Marco suffered. But the other three Aprilia riders did a good job, and we are still leading the constructors' and teams' standings," Bonora added.

A new approach was then implemented. "We have to be more calm, not put pressure. The idea is to let him be part of the game, without trying to win every time," Bonora explained. "We told him to think of this as a new season, a fresh start."

Bonora also highlighted Bezzecchi's tendency to overpush. "He made mistakes when he felt he had big potential. Probably he tried to push more than necessary in the first part of the race," he said.

Most importantly, Bezzecchi is aware of this. "He is the same Marco we love at Mugello, he just needs to manage his energy. That's all," Bonora concluded.

This approach worked at Silverstone. Despite still nursing knee and collarbone injuries, Bezzecchi finished third in both races. Now he heads to Aragon with renewed confidence.
