MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) capped a stellar weekend by clinching the Petronas Grand Prix Malaysia 2025 at Sepang Circuit on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM WIB. Fresh from securing the 2025 MotoGP runner-up spot via the Tissot Sprint on Saturday, the #73 rider delivered a flawless, dominant performance, finishing 2 seconds ahead of Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) in second. Joan Mir (Honda HRC Castrol) took third after Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team was hampered by a technical issue.

Bagnaia launched from pole with a strong start, leading the first lap ahead of Acosta and Alex Marquez. However, Alex Marquez quickly seized control, overtaking Acosta at Turn 4 on the opening lap and passing Bagnaia on lap two. Behind them, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team) and Mir battled fiercely for fourth. Alex Marquez then built a lead, while Bagnaia and Acosta engaged in a heated duel for second, with Acosta securing the position on Lap 13.

Mid-race, Alex Marquez maintained a steady pace at the front, while Bagnaia struggled against Acosta’s pressure. With three laps remaining, a technical glitch forced Bagnaia to retire to the garage, paving the way for Mir to claim third. This marked Alex Marquez’s third win of the season, with Acosta and Mir earning podiums since Mandalika and Motegi, respectively.
