Alex Lynn Returns for Final Two WEC Rounds, Ricky Taylor Replaces at COTA

Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has confirmed that Alex Lynn will rejoin the team for the final two rounds of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, returning to the #12 Cadillac V-Series.R for Barcelona and Monza. The British driver has been sidelined since undergoing surgery in June, but his recovery is now on track.

Lynn is progressing through a structured rehabilitation and car-based recovery programme, with a view to being race-fit for the season finale. In a team statement, he expressed his eagerness to get back behind the wheel: "I'm looking forward to getting back to racing with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA. I've had a long and thorough rehab period, and things are progressing well."

He added: "Over the coming weeks and months I'll be getting 'race fit' through a combination of physio, training, testing and sim work to make sure I'm at my best come Barcelona. I've been supporting the team from afar and will be cheering them on for the next round at COTA."

With Lynn unavailable for the upcoming Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas (September 4-6), Cadillac Racing driver Ricky Taylor will step into the #12 car alongside Norman Nato and Will Stevens. Taylor, a regular in the IMSA Cadillac Hypercar, previously worked with the team at Le Mans this year, and he is excited about the opportunity.

"I'm really excited to join Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA for the COTA round of the WEC championship," said Taylor. "I've always been a big fan of the team, and it was great working with them this year at Le Mans as a teammate car. I know Will and Norman well from their time with WTR. COTA is an amazing track and it will be great to go back to Austin. Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has been so strong all year, we've all been watching and cheering them on. I'll be doing my best to help contribute to another good result at COTA."

This lineup change could be pivotal for the team's championship ambitions. Taylor's familiarity with the Cadillac machinery from IMSA should provide immediate pace, while Lynn's return for the final two rounds adds depth and experience. All eyes will be on the #12 car at COTA to see if they can capitalize on this strong driver combination.
