Good news has finally arrived for Cadillac fans and especially for Alex Lynn. The British driver is confirmed to return to the cockpit for the final two rounds of the 2026 FIA WEC at Barcelona and Monza. The confirmation came directly from Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, ending a long wait since he underwent surgery in June.

The 2026 season almost became a lost one for Lynn. Before the season opener, he had to withdraw due to a serious neck issue. Instead of racing, he had to undergo intensive treatment and surgery. With only two regular drivers, Norman Nato and Will Stevens, the team had called on Louis Deletraz as a substitute at Spa and Le Mans. Now, with Lynn's condition improving, the comeback plan is taking shape.

“I can't wait to get back racing with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA,” said Lynn in an official statement. “I've been through a long and careful rehabilitation process. In the coming weeks and months, I'll prepare as best I can through a combination of physiotherapy, training, testing, and simulator sessions. I want to arrive in Barcelona in peak condition.”

This decision also answers speculation about Lynn's future with the team. Before his injury, he was a key part of the lineup that won the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo last season. His return is expected to strengthen the team's performance in the final two rounds, especially in the tight Hypercar class competition.

Meanwhile, for the Austin round, which takes place earlier, Cadillac has appointed Jordan Taylor as the replacement. The American driver, a three-time IMSA champion, will join for the round at the Circuit of the Americas. “I'm really excited to join the team for COTA. I've always been a big fan of the team, and working with them at Le Mans this year was fantastic,” said Taylor.

Taylor also added that he knows Will Stevens and Norman Nato well from their time at WTR, and he feels COTA is a fantastic track. “I'll do my best to help the team get a good result,” he concluded. With this dynamic driver rotation, Cadillac seems intent on maximizing opportunities at the end of the season while ensuring Lynn is truly ready for a solid comeback.
