The women's motorcycle world championship is facing a major structural transformation ahead of the 2027 season following a landmark promotional agreement reached by Liberty to introduce Chinese manufacturer CF Moto as the exclusive machine supplier. This significant transition away from Yamaha R7-Twins has triggered immediate consequences for runner-up Beatriz Neila, who must now secure a new competitive home.
While the current 2026 campaign nears its climax at the Circuito de Jerez with Maria Herrera holding a substantial 44-point advantage, off-track developments have completely overshadowed the sporting battle. The decision by championship promoters to switch to the three-cylinder 675SR-R platform means existing factory-backed structures must reevaluate their long-term involvement in the category.
Crescent, operating as the official factory representative in the Superbike paddock, confirmed that continuing under a rival manufacturer's banner remains completely unfeasible. The brand alignment prevents them from fielding machinery outside of their core motorsport commitments with the Japanese manufacturer.

Crescent Team Principal Paul Denning clarified the situation during media rounds at Jerez. «Unser Team ist eigenstandig und von Crescent, wir sind aber auch das offizielle Yamaha-Werksteam in der Superbike-WM, wir reprasentieren den Hersteller Yamaha,» stated Denning, emphasizing the logistical and contractual roadblocks created by the impending arrival of competing equipment.
Denning also reflected on the unique platform that supported Beatriz Neila throughout her campaign, noting how integration within a premier Superbike garage elevated her commercial profile and helped attract prominent backers. Adapting to the new commercial reality under fresh ownership will present distinct challenges for individual competitors aiming to secure adequate funding for future seasons.
