The 2026 World Supersport season has been an exceptionally arduous journey for Dominique Aegerter, but the Swiss rider has shown immense resilience right until the very end. After struggling for months to unlock the true potential of his Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 machine, a breakthrough performance finally materialized during the season finale.
Even though it has been clear for months that this challenging single-season partnership would not be extended into the future, the rider and his technical crew never stopped pushing for continuous technical improvements. Following encouraging signs of competitiveness at Cremona and a strong eighth-place finish in Portugal, momentum reached a high point at the Circuito de Jerez.
During the crucial Superpole qualifying session in Spain, the seasoned 36-year-old put together a stellar lap to lock down fourth place on the starting grid. This remarkable effort marks the first time this year that the double world champion has successfully forced his way into the coveted second row of the grid.

A visibly relieved Aegerter expressed immense satisfaction after delivering his strongest qualifying performance of the year, emphasizing that the result highlights the unwavering dedication of everyone involved in the team project. Securing a second-row start provides an ideal platform for Saturday's opening race.
As he aims to prove his enduring speed in the intermediate category, finishing the 2026 campaign on a high note will undoubtedly strengthen his prospects in the rider market ahead of the upcoming 2027 racing season.
