Diogo Moreira has pledged to help the Japanese manufacturer return to the front of the premier class grid after being officially announced as Fabio Quartararo's factory team-mate for the upcoming 2027 championship campaign.
The talented Brazilian rider is currently contesting his rookie season with the LCR independent squad, where he famously secured the manufacturer's maiden podium of the year at Motegi, an impressive milestone that elevated his status significantly within the paddock.
In securing the highly coveted factory ride, the young charger edged out strong internal competition during the intense rider market evaluations. This major announcement marks a pivotal turning point for the squad's long-term sporting strategy and technical development moving forward.

"It is a fantastic feeling to arrive to the factory Honda HRC team in MotoGP, it is something that every rider dreams of when they are young," Moreira stated regarding his milestone career advancement.
"I want to say thank you to everyone in Honda HRC for putting their faith in me and making the next step in this project. So far we have done a great job to adapt to the bike and the sensations for the future are already very positive," he added with great enthusiasm.
HRC general manager Yuzuru Ishikawa highlighted the youngster's exceptional ability to master different machinery quickly as the ultimate testament to his raw speed and technical intelligence across multiple racing disciplines.
