The MotoGP grid ahead of the major 2027 technical regulation overhaul has taken a massive turn as Diogo Moreira secures an official promotion to the factory Honda squad. Announced on October 20, the 22-year-old Brazilian standout is set to share a garage with Fabio Quartararo next season, forming an exciting alliance blending premier class pedigree with explosive youthful potential.

Honda Racing Corporation opted for a dynamic lineup strategy as they prepare for a brand-new era of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Moreira made no secret of his excitement regarding the milestone move, fulfilling a lifelong ambition of reaching the pinnacle of the sport with the Japanese manufacturer and expressing his gratitude to the HRC management for their unwavering support.

"It is a fantastic feeling to join the Honda MotoGP factory team—it is what every rider dreams of when they are young," Moreira stated, reflecting on his career progression. "I want to thank everyone at HRC who has placed their trust in me and made this next step in the project possible. So far in 2026, we have done a great job adapting to the motorcycle, and the prospects for the future are already very positive based on what we have seen so far."
