A massive transformation is underway at the Circuit of the Americas ahead of the 2026 racing calendar, as the United States Grand Prix venue gradually transitions into a year-round entertainment destination. The most striking change is visible at Turn 1, featuring a mammoth multi-storey clubhouse connected directly to the main paddock via a cable car crossing the track. This luxurious structure serves as an extension of the F1 Paddock Club during race weekends before officially transforming into a year-round private members' club named 'The Circuit' starting January 2.
The membership model is structured uniquely like a traditional country club rather than a standard annual program. According to COTA's Senior Vice President of Motorsports, Parris Mullins, members pay an initial one-time fee securing lifetime access alongside maintenance dues. "There are annual dues to maintain the facilities and cover staffing, but the initiation fee is a one-time payment that essentially provides a lifetime membership," explained Parris Mullins. Public interest has surged dramatically with hundreds of applicants, though management has strictly capped total membership at just 300 worldwide.
This upscale addition is not merely the vision of COTA president Bobby Epstein, but aligns with a broader push by Formula 1 management for promoters to significantly elevate their hospitality standards. Parris Mullins added that improving these amenities was a crucial factor tied directly to their contract renewal. As the sport expands rapidly across North American markets, delivering elite hospitality experiences has become an absolute necessity to satisfy high-end clientele and corporate partners.
However, COTA's pivot toward a private venue model means standard track days and regional driving clubs will lose access to the main grand prix layout. To counter this displacement, management has finalized advanced blueprints to construct a second, shorter circuit on an empty plot north of the primary F1 track. This secondary layout will accommodate both cars and motorcycles, ensuring long-standing local partners and grassroots racing organizations retain a dedicated home.
The creation of a secondary circuit highlights management's dedication to preserving regional motorsport roots amidst heavy commercial growth. By pairing the luxurious Turn 1 clubhouse with a brand-new secondary racing facility, the iconic Texas venue aims to set a brand-new global benchmark for modern, multi-purpose motorsport destinations.
