Former Red Bull Formula 1 team principal and CEO Christian Horner received a staggering total payout worth more than £67 million following his departure from the squad, financial reports have revealed. According to Red Bull Technology Limited’s 2025 financial disclosures, the 52-year-old Briton was also handed an additional £9.029 million in compensation for loss of office, bringing his grand total exit package to just over £76 million.
The high-profile departure occurred in the days immediately following the 2025 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, abruptly bringing an end to his highly successful 20-year tenure at the helm of the operation. In a recent interview with The Times, Christian Horner confirmed that he still had six full years remaining on his lucrative Red Bull contract when he was ultimately shown the door. His exhaustive settlement agreement was finally reached and finalized in September 2025.
His removal from office came just over a year after a female employee leveled allegations of inappropriate behavior against him. Throughout the ordeal, Christian Horner consistently denied any wrongdoing and was subsequently cleared by two independent investigations which formally dismissed the employee’s original complaints. Ever since being axed by the Milton Keynes-based outfit, he has been continually linked with a high-profile return to the Formula 1 paddock.

Recent intense speculation surrounding the future of Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has thrust Christian Horner right back into the conversation with the legendary Italian constructor. Christian Horner himself added significant fuel to the fire by publicly admitting for the very first time that he would genuinely be interested in joining Ferrari, describing the ultimate leadership job at Maranello as being the absolute dream in Formula 1.
Despite his exit, the mastermind behind the initial Ford powertrain collaboration publicly congratulated his former squad and Max Verstappen after they secured a landmark maiden victory with their new engine partner. "From a hole in the ground to race winner in five years," Christian Horner posted online, praising Max Verstappen and the entire crew for an incredible achievement.
