Internal tensions within the Ferrari garage have come to light as Charles Leclerc openly admitted to friction with teammate Lewis Hamilton. The rivalry between the two Formula 1 stars reached a boiling point following a heated on-track battle during the opening lap of the Mexico City Grand Prix last week.
The intense scrap for the lead at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez forced both drivers off the track, inadvertently handing an advantage to Max Verstappen, who capitalized on the chaos to claim race victory. The controversial opening-lap incident immediately sparked widespread media speculation regarding harmony inside the famous red garage.
Ahead of the subsequent round at Interlagos, both drivers sat down to clear the air. Leclerc arrived in Sao Paulo following the birth of his first child, a momentous personal milestone that momentarily delayed their crucial face-to-face discussions.

Speaking to media gathered in the paddock, the Monegasque driver insisted that the air has been completely cleared between them. "From my perspective, I was very straightforward," Leclerc told reporters.
"It was good to speak. This is always needed after a moment like this. It took proportions that are way too big, but it has been around for way too long. At the same time, it was a very special week for me, so I couldn't really have those discussions before arriving here."
Leclerc emphasized that the chapter is now firmly closed as both drivers turn their full attention toward a strong finish to the racing calendar. Being much more closely matched this season compared to previous campaigns has naturally generated competitive tension.
"It was important to have those discussions, but now I consider that a closed chapter, and I think it would be important to look ahead," he continued. "Of course there is tension, of course, we want to finish ahead of each other. Sometimes we are not going to do things right. It's okay sometimes to disagree on the way you see things. But at the same time, discussing those things then helps a whole lot."
